Vikki Slade MP Launches Christmas Card Competition for Local Children

Young people invited to design MP's official Christmas card

Vikki Slade MP is inviting young artists from across Mid Dorset and North Poole to get creative and enter her 2026 Christmas Card Competition.

The winning design will feature on Vikki's official Christmas card, which is sent to homes, community groups and organisations across the constituency during the festive season.

Now becoming an annual tradition, the competition celebrates the creativity and imagination of local children, with the winner's artwork appearing on the front of the card. The first name and school of the winning entrant will also be featured on the finished design.

Vikki Slade MP said:

"One of my favourite Christmas traditions is sending out a card featuring artwork created by a local child, and I'm delighted to be launching this year's competition."

"We have so many talented young people across Mid Dorset and North Poole, and every year I'm amazed by the creativity that comes through the letterbox. I'm looking for bright, bold colours and bundles of festive cheer."

"Whether it's a funny festive character, local landmarks dressed up for Christmas, or something completely imaginative, I'd love to see what our young artists create. I know choosing a winner will be incredibly difficult."

As well as the winning design appearing on the front of the card, smaller images of the runners-up will be featured on the back.

To allow enough time for the artwork to be prepared, printed and delivered before Christmas, all entries must be submitted by Friday 2 October.

Entries should be:

• One side of A4 paper
• Either portrait or landscape
• Original artwork created by the entrant

Participants are asked not to use glitter, sequins or glue, as entries will need to be scanned and reproduced for printing.

Each design submitted should feature the name, age, class and school of the entrant on the back and the winning child’s first name and school will be printed on the final design.

The age limit for entries is 16 years old.
