Vikki Slade Celebrates International Women’s Day
Vikki commented: ‘There have been many incredible women who have inspired me throughout my life. My mum, who fought for the life she wanted and showed me how to love life.
Dame Annette Brooke, who asked me to stand for parliament and demonstrated how being a Liberal Democrat MP can make a real difference. My girls Molly & Abbi, who are growing into brilliant women, aiming to make difference to medical research & the planet. The girls we have fostered (M, E, M, S and K) who drive me to make sure every child meets their potential. The homeless mums I have supported especially Emma & Chloe. And finally, the women who made it possible for people like me to represent communities, to stand for parliament & to improve the world. Without the suffragettes, women’s rights movements and the UN we might not be able to achieve our potential.
