The annual canvass from BCP Council is underway and you should be receiving a letter asking you to confirm your eligibility to vote. It is a legal requirement to respond to the letter, but it is also your opportunity to add young people to the registration (they can be added at age 16 despite being unable to vote until their 18th birthday) and note any errors.
Residents who have an email registered with BCP Council may get their form electronically so please check your spam or junk folder if you don’t receive a letter or email in the next couple of weeks.
If you are new to the area, then welcome! You will not be automatically registered just because you are paying council tax or because you have engaged with us as your elected representatives.
Registering to vote only takes a couple of minutes and the quickest way to do it is by using this link.
Local elections are due in May 2023, and we have no idea when we might see a general election under a new Prime Minister, so it is crucial that you don’t miss your opportunity to make your mark.
