Success! Work on zebra crossing at Sherborn Crescent begins.

This week, work started on the first zebra crossing for Sherborn Crescent!

Canford Heath Councillor Sandra Moore said:

"I have campaigned for it for some years, but it was still ‘on the council list’ until now!

"It is in the middle of Sherborn Crescent near Chalbury Close and links up the pedestrian footpath through the open space from The Neighbourhood Centre (Asda) to Tower Park.

"I am also waiting to hear about CIL (Community Infrastructure Levy) Bids I have put in for two more zebra crossings for Sherborn Crescent - one near Ad Astra Infant School and the other between Dewlish and Uplyme Closes.

"I have also got another CIL Bid for a 20mph speed reduction for the School Zone in front of Ad Astra."

Sherborn Crescent is around a mile long and has been a focus of Canford Heath Lib Dem's attention since the tragic death of a little 7 year old boy last year. The exact cause of the fatal accident won’t be determined until the coroner’s inquest takes place. If the coroner makes any recommendations regarding the road, they will be carried out.

In the meantime, Sandra and the team will keep talking to residents and nagging Poole Council for improvements!
