How does your garden grow?

Entries are now open for the 2022 Poole in Bloom competition and residents are being encouraged to submit their beautiful borders, glorious gardens and pretty pots to the judges.

In addition to the traditional classes, this year will also include a Jubilee Celebration Garden, special trees, sensory spaces and environmentally friendly gardens.

You have just over a month to get your entries in, with the deadline of 24th June, so let’s hope for just a few splashes of rain to bring out the colours in your plants. You can access the entry form HERE.

Winners will be invited to a presentation evening in October at Poole’s most spectacular garden, Compton Acres.

If individual blooms or vegetables are more to your taste, make sure you prepare for the Broadstone Horticultural Show which takes place on 13th August at the War Memorial Hall. More details about the classes and how to enter can be found on their website.

Finally on the subject of plants, we will shortly be replanting the wooden planters by the post office with the summer bedding. If you would like to help, please email Vikki and she will email you when a time and date has been secured. This planting has been funded by the sponsors displayed on the wooden planters.
