Parents will struggle to find school holiday childcare.

11.29.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 15th Jul 2009

With the summer holidays just around the corner, the timely publication of today's Daycare Trust report, describing the current holiday childcare situation as a 'postcode lottery', highlights the many childcare problems families may be facing over the break.

Commenting on its findings, Liberal Democrat Children and Families Spokesperson, Annette Brooke has said:

"Finding good, affordable childcare is going to be a real struggle for many families during the school holidays.

"Some parents find that they are better off quitting their jobs to look after their children. This undermines everything the Government has been saying about getting people back to work.

Adding,"The Government needs to ensure that every parent has access to high quality childcare, no matter where they are in the country."
