Lib Dem leader Jo Swinson & Vikki Slade took some time out of their busy conference schedule at the weekend to meet up with the manager of Bournemouth Lush and the company's Head of retail, Claire Constantine. All were happy to discuss their shared commitments to reducing single-use plastics, environmental sustainability and the benefits of running an ethical business model.
Having worked closely with Lush when she first became an MP Jo understands just how committed they are to environmental consciousness and was keen to visit the local outlet and hear about their new efforts to tackle single use plastics, somethign at the forefront of Liberal Democrat environmental policy. Local candidate Vikki Slade said "It was great to spend time with a leading local business who put their values at the centre of all they do. Lush have been a key player in shaping consumer behaviour and I hope to work with them as we deliver on the pledges under our climate emergency work". Committing the Liberal Democrats to working closely with ethical businesses like Lush at both a national and local level.
