Following a tour of the factory Nick Clegg, Annette and Vikki met with a number of Cobham’s successful apprentices and took part in a question and answer session.  This highlighted the importance of the Coalition’s apprenticeship schemes as an alternative route into employment.  “This is a traditional idea which is fitting very well with 21st century businesses offering wonderful opportunities for our young workers to gain both experience and the skills needed to succeed in today’s highly competitive world,” commented the Deputy Prime Minister.

Prospective MP Vikki Slade said, "I really enjoyed my visit to Cobham's. They are a vital employer in Wimborne and the surrounding area and to see so many enthusiastic and hard working apprentices gave me a lot of confidence for the future. I'm proud to be part of a party which has helped deliver 1.8 million new apprenticeships."
